AADE announced three arrests in a drug-trafficking investigation in Thessaloniki on 19 October 2026. According to the authority's full press release, DEOS teams seized 3.5 kg of cannabis and 120 g of cocaine.

What the investigation reports

AADE alleges that the group approached minors among others through communication apps it describes as encrypted. It reports instructions for obtaining drugs, cryptocurrency payments and allocated areas of operation. These descriptions are findings and allegations of the investigating authority, not a court judgment.

According to the announcement, the first arrest led to an undercover operation and two further arrests. Searches of homes reportedly recovered precision scales and a cryptocurrency payment device.

The case remains under investigation

The three arrested individuals were taken to the competent prosecutor under the expedited procedure. AADE says its investigation into other cells of the alleged organisation continues. The release does not announce a conviction; the presumption of innocence applies.

The ERTnews report was checked against AADE's original release. Republishing the same announcement is not independent confirmation of the arrested individuals' guilt.
