Disaster-affected exam candidates: documents due by 19 October for 2% quota
The special quota is now 2% for each upper-secondary school category. Eligible candidates submit applications and certificates to the competent secondary-education directorates.

Updated 13.10.2026 · 21:09 — What changed: the quota was set in Government Gazette B 6145/12 October 2026, and the Ministry announced a document deadline of 19 October. Submissions are now under way.
Eligible candidates from designated disaster-affected areas who sat Greece's 2026 national university entrance exams may submit their documents through Monday, 19 October 2026 to the competent Directorates of Secondary Education.
2% for each category
Decision 134750/A5/9 October 2026, published in Gazette B 6145, sets 2% additional places for day and evening general and vocational upper-secondary schools, above the normal intake for each respective category. This does not mean automatic admission for every applicant.
Who is covered
Eligibility covers final-year students and graduates of the designated schools who sat the 2026 exams. It also covers candidates permanently resident in the designated areas who filed their exam application through a school or directorate elsewhere.
The list names particular municipalities, municipal units and communities in Attica, the North Aegean, Western Greece, Epirus, Central Macedonia, the South Aegean, the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Crete and the Ionian Islands. It does not automatically cover each entire region. It includes Chios Municipality and specified parts of Evia, including Mantoudi–Limni–Agia Anna Municipality and the Styra municipal unit.
Basic supporting documents
Candidates from the affected schools need an application and statutory declaration containing their details and exam candidate code, plus a certificate from the head of the school where they filed their exam application.
Candidates relying on permanent residence who applied elsewhere also need the prescribed residence evidence: the 2026 tax-year E1 form concerning 2025 income, or the prescribed school certificate based on myschool records. Directorates apply the circular's separate receipt categories and check eligibility.
From the earlier announcement to submissions
The 2 October update added twelve areas to the eligibility list. The 9 October supplementary decision and 13 October circular establish the quota and deadline. Candidates should contact the competent directorate to confirm exact geographical eligibility and submission arrangements.
