Greek farm support: €53.77m feed allocation, investment applications open 6 October
Funding for livestock feed support has been allocated, but a ministerial decision is still pending. Applications for €263.5m in farm investment support open on 6 October.

A €53.773 million allocation to support livestock farmers with feed costs has been signed by Greece's General Accounting Office, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food on 5 October 2026.
Deputy minister Thanasis Kavvadas said the measure covers the whole country, that the required joint ministerial decision is expected to be signed "in the coming days", and that eligible farmers are due to be paid during October.
What is confirmed and what is still pending
The allocation secures the budgeted amount, but it is not yet a completed payment decision. Until the joint ministerial decision is published, the eligibility criteria, calculation method and exact payment date have not been finalised publicly in the announcement.
The announcement therefore marks a clear step towards payment; it does not show that the money has already reached livestock farmers' accounts.
Farm improvement plans: applications from 6 October
A separate official call, with public funding of €263.5 million, activates three interventions under Greece's new farm improvement plans. Electronic applications through the OPSKE state-aid platform open on Tuesday 6 October 2026 and close on Wednesday 20 January 2027 at 13:00.
The call covers, among other items, farm buildings and equipment, water-saving investments, renewable-energy generation and storage for a farm's own needs, and the treatment and reuse of agricultural and livestock waste.
Investment limits
According to the official call, eligible project budgets vary by investment type and applicant. Competitiveness projects may reach €200,000 for individuals and companies and €400,000 for collective schemes. Projects focused mainly on livestock facilities may reach €400,000 and €500,000 respectively.
An applicant may submit one combined project covering all three interventions, up to €750,000 for individuals and companies and €1.25 million for collective schemes. The ceiling for biogas projects linked to livestock farms is €2.5 million.
Applications will be ranked through a comparative assessment under the call's criteria. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding approval.
