An energy-upgrade project for four municipal buildings in Akrini, with a €2.3 million budget, was included in the Special Just Development Transition Programme of the 2021–2025 National Development Programme, according to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance’s announcement on 23 October 2026.

Which buildings are covered

The announcement attributes the inclusion decision to Alternate Minister Nikos Papathanasis. In Akrini’s municipal community, within Kozani Municipality, interventions are planned for:

  • The kindergarten.
  • The primary school.
  • The school complex’s multipurpose hall.
  • A separate multipurpose building.

Funding inclusion and subsequent delivery stages

The new development concerns project inclusion. The ministry links it to the broader plan for a Model Green Settlement in Akrini; this does not establish completion of the overall transformation.

The release does not identify a contractor, works start or completion dates, detailed technical interventions or a measured energy-saving percentage. It does not provide the full decision or an ADA transparency identifier. Inclusion is reported as the competent ministry’s official announcement, rather than the handover of completed buildings or an individual subsidy scheme.
