The Ministry of Health recommends timely influenza vaccination for the 2026–2027 season, preferably from mid-October to the end of November. Vaccination can also take place later while influenza continues circulating.

Priority groups include people over 60, children aged six months to five years, pregnant and postpartum women and those who are breastfeeding, and people with chronic illnesses or morbid obesity. They also include health professionals, carers of vulnerable people, residents and workers in closed facilities, and people regularly exposed to birds or pigs.

Administration

Most people receive one dose annually. According to the guidance, children under nine receiving influenza vaccination for the first time need two doses at least four weeks apart.

The influenza vaccine can be given on the same day as a COVID-19 vaccine, at a different site on the body. Vaccination is postponed if respiratory infection symptoms are present, until they subside. For individual medical advice, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
