Greece–Florida partnership: training and interoperability at its core
A letter of intent signed on 7 October establishes a framework for cooperation and shared expertise.
Greece and the Florida National Guard formalised their State Partnership Program relationship in Athens on 7 October 2026. General Dimitrios Choupis and Major General John Haas signed the letter of intent, with Nikos Dendias and Marco Rubio attending.
Areas of cooperation
Greece’s ministry lists exercises, command and control, air defence, logistics, cyber operations and disaster response. The US Army also confirms the partnership.
Detailed priorities and annual activities are the next steps. The framework is not an announced weapons purchase or proof that future activities have already taken place. Its practical value will depend on training and implementation.
