Halkidiki: Kassandra or Sithonia, plus a day inland
Choose a main area and build the holiday around it, leaving time for the sea, villages and history.

Kassandra and Sithonia make different holidays
Kassandra has more developed tourism infrastructure, while Sithonia is known for coves and pine-lined shores. Rather than asking which is universally better, think about the holiday you want. For a short stay, choose one peninsula as your base. Frequent changes of area can use up time better spent swimming or walking.
One beach at a time
Sithonia’s varied coast can tempt you to change beaches constantly. Our suggestion is one main stop a day, with a nearby second stop only if wanted. Check access, parking and any services your group needs. The most useful choice is the one that suits the day, not necessarily the most photographed shore.
Olynthus, Stagira and Cholomontas
Olynthus and Stagira add archaeological interest, while Cholomontas offers an inland route. Avoid forcing all three into one excursion. Choose a themed day for history or mountain scenery. Confirm opening hours for a specific archaeological visit and distinguish a simple drive from a hike requiring different preparation.
A four-day suggestion
Spend the first day around your base, two days exploring nearby coast and the fourth on one cultural or inland stop. This is our editorial outline. Broaden the routes gradually on a longer stay. Halkidiki can reward repeat visits; a first holiday does not need to cover every area.
