Kenya: US raises travel advisory to Level 3
The State Department advises reconsidering travel in its 19 October update. This is not a general entry ban.

The US Department of State raised its Kenya advisory to Level 3 — reconsider travel on 19 October 2026, from Level 2, as reported by Reuters and ERTnews. The new level is confirmed on the department's official page.
The US authority cites health risks, crime, kidnapping, terrorism, unrest and traffic safety. This is guidance for US citizens, not a Greek travel decision or a universal entry ban.
Stricter guidance for particular areas
The full text includes Level 4 — do not travel — areas. Examples include Eastleigh and Kibera in Nairobi and parts of Marsabit and Turkana within 50 kilometres of the Ethiopian border. These are not the only listed areas; travellers must review the full advisory against their itinerary.
The advisory remains published at the 20 October check, without a specific expiry time. Travellers should review official consular updates and insurance coverage before finalising plans. The announcement does not by itself establish that flights have been cancelled.
