United List remains first in Latvia’s 3 October parliamentary election, according to the latest provisional figures from the Central Election Commission (CVK). In the official table updated at 21:20 Athens time on 4 October 2026, it has 35.288% and is provisionally allocated 41 of the Saeima’s 100 seats.

What the count shows

Party-list votes have been recorded at all 1,059 polling stations. The second part of the protocol, covering votes for and against individual candidates, is complete at 1,058 stations. The provisional seat allocation is calculated from the first part, which is now complete.

The Union of Greens and Farmers has 4.401%, below the 5% threshold. The figures remain officially provisional until the results are certified.

First place is not a majority

The provisional 41 seats fall short of the 51 required for a parliamentary majority. Arithmetically, an agreement with either the National Alliance or the Progressives would reach exactly 51 seats, but no government agreement has been confirmed. Forming a government is a separate political process.

Provisional count, not final certification

The CVK distinguishes the published count from certification: it says the final official results will be approved by 19 October. These are counting figures, not a poll or an exit poll.

Update, 4 October 2026, 22:03 Athens time — What changed: the party-list count was completed at all 1,059 polling stations. The provisional allocation moved from 42 to 41 seats for United List and from nine to 10 for the Progressives. Percentages were refreshed and the absence of a government agreement was clarified.
