Hellenic Police has announced travel restrictions in parts of Messinia on Sunday 25 October 2026 for the “PPC IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Navarino Peloponnese Greece” triathlon.

From 07:30 to 17:00, Greek local time, all vehicle traffic will be suspended and stopping and parking will be prohibited on the specified sections. The announcement was issued on 23 October; the restrictions concern Sunday.

Where the restrictions apply

  • Kyparissia–Pylos national road: from kilometre 19.5, the start of the existing national road, to kilometre 35.1, at the W hotel complex roundabout in Gialova.
  • Unnamed municipal road towards Pigadia: from its junction with the Kyparissia–Pylos national road at kilometre 23.7 to its junction with the Filiatra–Koryfasio provincial road.
  • Filiatra–Koryfasio provincial road: from its junction with the unnamed municipal road towards Pigadia to the entrance of Marathopoli.
  • Unnamed municipal road starting at kilometre 33 of the Kyparissia–Pylos national road, from its junction with the national road to its end.

Exemptions and temporary signs

All types of emergency vehicles are exempt. Police says traffic during the restrictions will follow the temporary information and regulatory signs and other road signage that will be installed.

The restrictions apply to these specific sections. The announcement does not provide one universal diversion route for every destination.
