The restoration of the protected Matthaiou roller-mill complex in Naousa and its conversion into a cultural and educational venue has been included in an EU-funded programme with public expenditure of €3,409,760.

The inclusion decision concerns the Environment and Climate Change 2021–2027 programme. The beneficiary is the Municipality of the Heroic City of Naousa, with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund.

What the project includes

According to the official announcement, the protected building has a total area of 1,121 square metres. The project provides for building and mechanical-electrical works, restoration and presentation of historic machinery, and museum and exhibition equipment.

The plan is for a cultural and educational venue capable of operating year-round after completion.

A funding decision, not project completion

The new development is the project's inclusion and funding decision. It does not mean construction has begun or been completed. The announcement gives no procurement, construction-start or delivery timetable; those require subsequent administrative and contractual stages.
