Southern Cyclades: marine park draft decree submitted to Council of State
A new administrative stage, not an issued decree or immediate commencement of every proposed restriction.
The Ministry of Environment and Energy announced on 19 October that it submitted the draft presidential decree for South Aegean 1 Marine National Park – Southern Cyclades to the Council of State on 16 October 2026.
Council scrutiny and an opinion precede issuance of the decree. The draft envisages protection zones and fishing restrictions. The announcement is neither Gazette publication nor a call for fishermen’s compensation applications.
