The Education Ministry reports €8.09 million in funding. The refurbished Third Dental Laboratory, already inaugurated, is a separate project.

The Education Ministry places the inauguration of the University of Athens' new School of Dentistry building in Goudi in early 2027, in an announcement dated 20 October 2026. It says €8.09 million has already been allocated for construction through the 2021–2025 Sectoral Development Programme.

Plans for the new building

According to the ministry, the plans include additional teaching, laboratory and clinical-training spaces, as well as reading rooms. The timetable is a ministerial announcement of a future inauguration, not confirmation that the building has already been handed over or is operating. No specific opening day is given.

A separate laboratory has been inaugurated

The announcement distinguishes the new building from the refurbished Third Dental Laboratory. The laboratory's inauguration preceded the reception for first-year students on 19 October. The refurbishment was sponsored by the Pavlos D. Giannakopoulos Foundation; it is separate from the €8.09 million funding for the new building.

Separate university-wide planning

The ministry also reports provision for €23 million in the 2026–2030 Sectoral Development Programme for maintaining and upgrading the University of Athens' buildings and equipment. This is broader university planning, not an additional completed project solely at the School of Dentistry.
