The UN is scheduling a further interactive dialogue on Tuesday 27 October 2026 in the Secretary-General selection process. ERT, carrying an ANA-MPA report, says the candidate will be Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, nominated by the United Arab Emirates on 21 October. She also confirms her candidacy on her official website.
Deadline for organizations
The official UN Indico invitation accepts expressions of interest from civil-society organizations to attend or ask a question remotely until 25 October, noon in New York — 18:00 in Athens. Registration does not guarantee selection; selected participants will be notified by 26 October.
The invitation’s main text schedules the dialogue for 15:00–18:00 New York time on 27 October, starting at 21:00 in Athens. Viewers can watch on UN Web TV without registering.
Candidacy and positions
Nusseibeh says she has taken leave from her UAE government responsibilities for the campaign. Her priorities include conflict prevention and changes to UN operations. These are her proposals as a candidate. The scheduled dialogue does not constitute appointment to the post.
