OSDE: proposal to defer MAAE registration as an application prerequisite to 2027
The Agriculture Ministry is preparing legislation for 2026 declarations. Its announcement is not itself an enacted change or a general abolition of the register.

The Ministry of Rural Development and Food, working with AADE, is preparing legislation to make prior registration in the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings (MAAE) a prerequisite for the Single Aid Application from 2027 rather than 2026. The announcement is dated 19 October 2026.
What the proposal aims to do
According to the ministry, the aim is to let producers complete their 2026 OSDE declarations without new MAAE registration specifically for that submission. It cites the process already being under way and the time needed to adapt to the new provisions.
An announcement, not proof of commencement
The release describes legislation being prepared and a change being proposed. It does not provide an enacted amendment or a Government Gazette reference demonstrating that the announced deferral has already taken effect. We therefore do not present it as a finalised rule or an extension of the application deadline.
The proposed exception specifically concerns linking the register to the Single Aid Application; it does not mean a general abolition of MAAE registration or other obligations. The ministry also says digital interconnection of systems with AADE is continuing; it does not announce its completion.
