OTE: 40% teleworking from 19 October — terms of the temporary arrangement
Two days a week in roles where remote work is possible, according to OME-OTE. Existing higher special allowances remain, with a review planned at the end of 2026.

From Monday, 19 October 2026, teleworking at OTE Group is scheduled to rise from 20% to 40%, or two days a week, according to the original announcement by the Greek Telecom Employees’ Federation, OME-OTE. It applies to roles and functions where remote work is possible.
The announcement is dated 12 October and attributes the decision to a management briefing on 9 October. ERTnews revisited the issue on 18 October ahead of implementation; this is not a decision announced today.
Terms to note
- Employees already covered by special arrangements with a higher percentage retain it, without a further increase.
- Each team’s managers coordinate implementation.
- The arrangement is temporary, with a review planned at the end of 2026.
OME-OTE presents the measure as a response to commuting costs. That is the federation’s assessment; the announcement provides no measured financial benefit. This is a company arrangement within this particular group, not a general entitlement to teleworking for all employees.
