Childcare centres: ministry announces a 10% increase in vouchers
Higher income ceilings and no income cap for reduced-value vouchers for families with three children. EETAA’s second call is still awaited; application dates were not announced.

A 10% increase in infant, nursery and preschool childcare vouchers for 2026–2027 was announced on 26 October 2026 by Greece’s Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family. Its announcement describes a new joint ministerial decision and raises income ceilings by €2,000.
What was announced for parents
According to the ministry, the increase covers full- and reduced-value vouchers in the specified childcare categories. It gives these examples:
- Infant place with meals: from €3,239 to €3,563.
- Preschool place with meals: from €2,612 to €2,873.
- Reduced-value voucher: from €2,178 to €2,396.
This pays for childcare services rather than being an unrestricted cash benefit for parents. The ministry says existing vouchers increase automatically without a new application, and reduced-value vouchers convert to full value when the increased income criteria are met.
The ceilings described in the announcement
For full-value vouchers, the stated income ceilings are €29,000 for families with up to two children, €32,000 for three, €35,000 for four and €38,000 for five or more. For reduced-value vouchers, the ceiling for families with up to two children rises to €37,000.
For families with three children, the ministry announced removal of the income ceiling for reduced-value vouchers, as already provided for larger families. Other programme conditions still apply, and this does not entitle every family to a full-value voucher.
What still requires a call and verification
EETAA will issue a second call for families covered by the new criteria who have not already received a voucher, according to the ministry. Its release gives no opening date, deadline or detailed list of supporting documents.
The announcement provides no Gazette number or link for the new decision. The complete regulatory text and a new call could not be verified during this check; EETAA’s website returned an access restriction. The changes above are therefore explicitly attributed to the ministry, without claiming that new applications have opened. The final conditions and supporting documents require the decision’s text and the second call.
