Dodekanisos Express returned to Skala harbour on Patmos on 25 October 2026 after a malfunction in its port main engine, according to the Hellenic Coast Guard.

The passenger catamaran was operating a scheduled service from Patmos to Agios Kirykos, Fournoi and Pythagoreio. Its 79 passengers disembarked safely and, according to the announcement, the company arranged their onward travel.

Conditions for sailing

The Patmos port authority prohibited sailing until the fault was repaired and the supervising classification society supplied a class-maintenance certificate. The announcement does not confirm that the prohibition was subsequently lifted or give a specific time for resuming services.

The coast guard reports no injuries and no observed marine pollution. The account concerns this vessel and incident; it does not establish a general interruption of ferry connections to the islands.
