Poland: PAC‑3 maintenance centre announced — what is planned
Poland has been selected to host support for Patriot interceptors. The official announcements concern establishing the facility, rather than the start of operations.

Poland has been selected to host a dedicated maintenance facility for PAC‑3 interceptors, used in the Patriot air and missile defence system. Announcements by Poland’s Defence Ministry and Lockheed Martin dated 27 October 2026 confirm the development, also reported by ERT.
Repairs and recertification
The manufacturer says the planned facility will provide on-site repairs, refurbishment, lifecycle support, recertification and integrated testing for allies operating PAC‑3. The announcement was coordinated with the US government.
Lockheed Martin also identifies Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden as original agreement partners alongside the United States and Poland, with supply-chain roles.
The objective and next steps
Poland’s ministry explains that missiles requiring certification currently have to be sent to the United States. The European facility is intended to shorten that process. This is an anticipated benefit, rather than a measured reduction already achieved.
The two official announcements confirm the host country and planned activities. They do not establish that the centre has been built or is operating, or specify a binding opening date. A maintenance-infrastructure decision is distinct from a new missile purchase or delivery of systems.
