The Hellenic Police announced a temporary closure of the Preveza–Igoumenitsa national road to all types of vehicle in both directions on 26 October 2026, following road-surface subsidence at kilometre marker 81+500.

Section affected

The Thesprotia Police Directorate’s decision applies from kilometre marker 80 to kilometre marker 91. The announcement does not describe a closure of the entire national road.

Official diversion

Traffic is being diverted via the Karteri–Vasiliko provincial road and Egnatia Odos. Drivers must follow traffic officers’ directions and road signs.

How long it applies

The restriction remains in force until the exceptional reasons for it cease to apply. No reopening date or time, or estimated diversion delay, has been announced.
