Samos: six dead after boat capsizes — 14 rescued

The incident north of Samos is separate from the boat collision off Lesvos.

Six people died after a small boat capsized off Samos on 19 October, according to a coast guard statement reported by AFP. A newer ERTnews report corroborates the toll.

ERT reports 14 people rescued and a search-and-rescue operation coordinated by Greece’s rescue centre, 3.7 nautical miles north of the island. The initial account of manoeuvres is not a final finding on the cause.
