Greece’s Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports announced 89 appointments for the 2026–2027 teaching year on 15 October. These are full-time temporary substitute posts under fixed-term private-law employment contracts.

Two breakdowns of the same total

By staff category, the appointments comprise 35 special educational staff (EEP) members and 54 teachers in the PE87.02 nursing branch. They are therefore not 89 appointments exclusively of nurses.

By support setting, the 89 posts are divided into nine in special education school units and 80 in specialised educational support, known as parallel support. These two breakdowns must not be added together.

Where and when to report

Appointees must report directly to their schools from Monday 19 through Tuesday 20 October 2026 to take up duty.

The official announcement includes the list of appointees. Information on reporting procedures and signing a digital contract is provided in the ministry’s “Substitute Teachers” section. This announcement concerns people already selected and does not open a new application process.
