Takis Theodorikakos filed a criminal complaint against those responsible on the morning of 14 October 2026, according to the Development Ministry.

The stated reason was a written message received by a basketball-club official, with the minister as its purported sender and a suggestion of future financial transactions. The ministry denies that it came from him.

The confirmed procedural stage

The announcement reports submission to the Cyber Crime Division. It does not announce an arrest, identification of the sender or a court ruling. The alleged deception and acts described in the complaint remain allegations to be investigated, not established guilt.
