Thessaloniki: overnight lane closures at Voulgari tunnel on 13–14 October
Works will affect both directions of the Thessaloniki–Nea Moudania road from 00:00 to 05:00, with each lane closed in sections.
Maintenance and hazard-removal works are scheduled at the Voulgari tunnel, kilometre point 6+300 of the Thessaloniki–Nea Moudania national road, in the early hours of Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October 2026.
Hours and traffic arrangements
According to the Central Macedonia Region's official notice, mobile crews will work from 00:00 to 05:00 in both directions. Each lane will be closed in sections; a complete tunnel closure has not been announced.
The Region says the arrangements have been coordinated with Thessaloniki Traffic Police. Drivers should reduce speed and follow temporary signs and police instructions.
Weather-dependent schedule
The works will proceed only if weather conditions permit. An official severe-weather warning is in force for 13–14 October, so the schedule may change. No alternative date has been announced.
